Is there a way to run multiple lines with feature codes at the same time ie. 2 back of curbs or 2 edged of pavement, is this not possible I have been playing around with feature codes and I am baffled by how complicated they seem. I may be missing something but I think I am getting hung up on how the line control codes work with the actual line codes.
I am not using actual line work in the data collector, but in Carlson, in the office, I use, bc, bc1, etc.
I need to tweak things so I can use the linework in the field as well. I sue SurveyPro in the field, and Carlson Survey in the office.
I hope this helps.
I know in pre 5.0 survey pro versions that you could do auto line work based on descriptions but the current version you need to use feature codes with line control codes which in my mind are very cumbersome and require too much forethought to actually be productive in the field but I may be missing that ah ha moment where they click and are actually useful. It seems like you cannot start a line code on a PC and there is no command for PC/PT or PCC or PRC so you have to put in some short tangent section which doesn't exist. We are demoing Carlson and the field to finish seems to blow auto line work away in usability.

I believe it is possible.
For example, I have a feature for Existing Pipeline (EPL). I can select EPL or I run multiple lines by simply typing EPL1 or EPL2 when prompted for the Feature. When doing this; the EPL, EPL1, and EPL2 will each retain their unique attributes. Does this make sense?
I do not set up the Features as "line" features when building my FXL files. I set them up as a "point" feature. My line work is generated after the data collection when the data reaches the office.
I hope this helps. Take care!

Thanks I never even thought to try just typing in another bc# I was picking from the list.
You should be able to go to the map screen and change over to active survey mode. From there you should be able to start multiple descriptions. These descriptions will be present at shortcuts buttons on the bottom of the screen. As you survey you hould be able to hit the description and it will auto number your points/draw lines, etc.
Thanks I will try from the active map I didn't think of that either.
