Is there a way to export a file directly from Survce to a Google.drive account?

Slightly off topic, but I personally have found dropbox to work/sync much better than google drive.

Carry on.

I don't think it is possible to do it seamless, you would need to use a web browser. The problem is I have not been able to find an Google Drive app for Windows Mobile 6.x. There are very few apps for Windows Mobile. That's why we have moved onto Windows PC on a Tablet (FZ-M1). We load Google Drive on the PC. Create a SUBST (Old DOS command, still works) drive G: for the Google Drive. This way all files on the G drive are pushed to the cloud once internet access is availabe. Has made file transfers very simple via office and field.

I got it working on my Javad equipment last night and it is sweet. I use the Carlson cloud for my other equipment but it is a bit more work to transfer the files. Plus saving the files in google or Dropbox means there is an external back up. I would also like to be able to back up from survce to google or dropbox.

I have looked and looked for a dropbox or Google Drive client for Windows Mobile and I don't think that they exist.

However I do have a suggestion (off topic) for fast transfer when connected to WiFi or to the network by cell data card:

FTP Server:
What I would really like to do when I return to the office is just move all of my data files over Wi-Fi to my desktop. I don't want to extract SD cards, I don't want to find the stupid cable. I don't want to screw around with ActiveSync.

Here is a possible solution: [ MochaSoft WMD FTPServer ], download it to your PC, run it while ActiveSync'ed to your data collector, install it, then type in the freeware username and password (displayed on the download page).

Now you can run the Server (from Start: Programs) and it will display the IP address of the data collector. All you need to do is type in this address in your explorer and you can move data back and forth to the mobile device. At full WiFi speeds! Here is what the address will look like in your Windows Explorer address bar:

Did I mention that this works on Linux and Macs too?
I have been using it for a few months and when connected to the office WiFi it is about 1000 times faster than active sync. And it seems to just work with no screwing around.

I actually can open two Windows Explorer windows and then drag the files from the FTP folder on the mobile device to the Google Drive folder in one operation.

Mark,

Thanks for the tip on FTP. Works like a charm on the CHC LT30 here...

I'll second the thanks to Mark. I hate hunting down the USB cable, or prying the rubber cap of the top of the Archer2 to get at the SD card, or screwing around with bluestooth. I can't seem to get it to work in Win Explorer, but it's all good with FileZilla!

Can you right-click-Copy on the files in the FTP pane (the files on the Data Collector) and then right-click-Paste over the Google Drive folder?

When I right click the copy option was greyed out, however I could drag a file onto my pc, just not Google drive?
