This is a new one for me: I've had Star*Net v6 open for a day or so, and was running some preanalysis last night. This afternoon I attempt to open a different job, and I get an error message saying something along the lines of "Fatal Error Unable to open Company Options File." I tried closing the application and relaunching, but all I get is this:
According to the manual, the Company Options are contained in Star6.def. However, at the moment my Star6.def file contains only a single line:
[PRE]*STAR*NET 2[/PRE]
So it looks like I've somehow lost all my company instrument data, plus whatever else was in that file. If anyone has troubleshooting suggestions, I'm open to ideas.

I have star6.def. All you seem to have is the very first line.
send me an email at KBS dot 484 at comcast dot net and I will send you the whole star6.def file.
Ken

I'd KILL to have standard centering errors like that! You're GOOD!
It looks like the problem was related to Windows. My system had been running for over a week, and apparently got unstable. A restart (which also included an update to the Anniversary Edition) fixed the problem.
Since the error message I was getting related to Company Options, I assumed that the file Star6.def as referenced in the manual had gotten corrupted. I renamed the file in preparation for restoring from a backup, but never got to the restore step. All of my company instruments are present in the Options dialog, which makes me think that Star*Net v6 may not be using the Star6.def file for anything anymore.
