Save ink (thus $$) by using Garamond font?

I stumbled across this issue when a dorky friend posted it to facebook. Interesting subject really. I wonder if it could be useful to us surveyors trying to stretch the amount of ink we use.

Sounds Doable

So I check my word processing programs and cannot find Garamond text.

From the pdf article I printed, which I assume to be in Garamond, I find the text itself as acceptable. However the letter to letter spacing is too crammed for my eye comfort.

I will request Garamond typeface from MS (Word) and Apache (Open Office).

I assume similar savings in laser print toner comparable to inkjet ink.

Sounds Doable

Don't forget to check your CAD package too. I usually have a default text (Arial) that I have to open the "edit text" box, highlight everything, and then choose one of the dropdowns to change. I'm going to try it on there later today. In CAD you may be able to widen the letters also. I'll try to do a screencap when I test it out later.

I like Tahoma but it isn't an ink saver.
