Anyone know how I could convert an RW5 file to and LandXML file??ÿ I'm trying to salvage a corrupt DBX file out of my CS20.?ÿ I have the info I need in a csv file now I just need to get it into Infinity.
I'm actually looking for raw data in the LandXML format.
XML is just a fancy generic file (like a dxf) for surfaces, points, centerlines, profiles, etc.?ÿ If you have a csv file of the points, that should be easily imported into any software package.?ÿ If you need the raw data file, most software will read RW5 files as well. I don't think there is a mechanism to export RW5 to XML.?ÿ

LandXML files can contain raw observation data, which is what I'm looking for. I have a corrupt file from my CS20 which Leica was able to get some of the data out in an XML file and a smaller, but oh so critical, portion in a CSV file. Unfortunately Infinity does not read in FBK or RW5 files. Hand entering is painful and does not work very well with sets of angles since you can not specify face 1 or 2. I did find a work-around to the problem that involves LisCAD or LGO and creating GSI files from my CSV files. Time consuming but it beats a 10 hour round trip and waiting for flaggers.
As for FBK, does anyone have a copy of the actual format? Carlson has the standards for RW5 but I can not find info on the FBK file anywhere.

If a GSI works, does the old 1200 to GSI procedure still work for the CS20??ÿ See attached.
If converting between GSI and FBK files helps, see attached.?ÿ We used it to convert the 1100 series to be processed in an old DOS program.

As to the FBK format, your best bet is old Softdesk manuals IMO.
Well, that was a bust.?ÿ It turns out that the LandXML output from Civil3D does not include raw measurement data.?ÿ I was able to create GSI files from data Leica was able to extract.?ÿ I was also able to output GSI files from the data that I had in Infinity.?ÿ From there I used my old version of LisCAD to adjust my network and reduce the corrupt topo shots.?ÿ I then added it back to my Infinity project.
