suggested. Gave $400 bucks from a guy on craigslist. Everything seems to be working fine. I plugged it into my cpu running windows 7, and the drivers downloaded automatically, recognized the device, etc.

When I went into Carlson and tried to plot a worksheet, I wanted to plot a 24x36, but that isn't an option. Only has ANSI options, no Arch sizes.

Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but the plotter has 30" roll paper in it.

Is there something I can do to get the other sizes to show?

In Win7 go to Devices & Printers, right click on your HP500 and select "printer properties" (not plain "properties). Then look for the paper standards tab and check the boxes for ARCH, ANSI and any others you use. After closing this dialogue box, I would right click again and select "printing preferences". On the Paper/Quality tab I would set the paper source to "Roll" and I would set roll size to the max roll your plotter will handle. This keeps you from having to change it all the time but you do have to be careful not to plot a size or orientation that is incompatible with the currently loaded roll.

Also, if your machine has the hpgl2 card installed you can check the box for small margins and set your plotter to bright white paper and it will allow you to print closer to the leading and trailing edges of the page.

Easy way to tell with out looking in the machine is to see if you can print more than one copy at a time. The HP500's wouldn't print multiples without it.

I use OVERSIZE ARCH. D
for the paper size in my 500, but then I also use a 36" roll.

Printed this morning a test plot and it seems I'm getting some double linework, Double Text. We think this may be from the paper moving slightly. Do you guys have any suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks,

Rich

Run the CALIBRATE PRINT HEADS routine.
