Check out Autodesk Labs Photofly...
View the associated downloads and YouTube vids of same.
Especially the archeological digs or the residential/street subjects.
I'm dinking around w/ a 3D model of my 69 Chevy pickup.

This is really awesome. Showed it to some of the "Old Cat" around the office and they nearly had a brain explosion.

Oh, how far we have come.

I tried it out after Bryan posted this - lets just say that my results were more "mixed" than those characterized in the youtube videos. I can easily see a model of a small building taking a day or more to put together. Could be that pictures from my iphone are to pixilated too work well.

Screen capture of a real world Photofly project. The corner of our office building rendered from images taken with my iphone. Thumbnails ofthe source photos along the bottom.
