Plotting Tables in AutoCad

I'm trying to bring a bunch of Excel data into a drawing. I've figured out the whole Table command but I can not get them to plot correctly, all of the text is faint. I added my own text in a couple of cells and they plot correctly.

Here are the details. I'm using Civil 3D 2009's LDD companion. I have created a text style 'L100' utilizing a font type of simplex.shp. This text style plots correctly everywhere except in the tables. Each cell is an individual mtext, which when edited reveals that the text style is L100 but the font is simplex True Type. I can change this manually but can not get it to change all of the cell at the same time. If I change the size or slant of the text style, that works fine.

Any advice

P.s I'm plotting using color tables for plotting and this problem is consistent on several plotters.

I have fought that many times. Have you tried inserting the table as a PDFs? I have tried inserting the table, linking as OLE and inserting PDF. Sometimes one method works better than the others, I can't give a reason why. The "magic" of Autodesk!

I think I figured out my own problem, or at least a work around. I had originally set the font in my Excel file to simplex, silly me. When you import a table, you can change the text style in mass but the font remains the same as the original document. You have to change that manually in each cell via a Mtext edit. AutoCAD does not seem to recognize the TTf for simplex (in 2009 or 2012). I changed the text style to Arial in Excel and every came out looking good.

I have found similar results. The "Import from Excel" function in ACAD seems very weak. It also seems to have problems with lineweights.

I typically can end up with the results I want, but it's generally a battle. Very frustrating in many cases.
