I'm opening a Land Desktop 3 drawing in Carlson 2012 w/ embedded ACAD and the curve text shows as a box [AecDbCurveText (AecCivilBase)]. I can relabel the arc just fine and get the info but I would like to try and resolve the Object Enabler issues.

Here's what I've tried:

I've gone to the Autodesk to download the object enabler and the notes say it's available in two installations .msi and .exe. In a nutshell, it says the .msi file requires an installation that previously use MS installer and the .exe does not. The .msi file will not install, I've tried it.

My problem is that I do not see the .exe file anywhere!

Carlson support tells me to download TrueView and convert it but that's not really a solution so I thought I'd see if anyone here knows how to fix it.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

There are xrefs that weren't bound to the drawing.

There are no x-refs for this dwg.

Haw!

Maybe so, but I do miss LDD's ability to do minor things like insert a North arrow, and change the current linetype, both of which were replicated by carlson support.

I'm trying to get this sorted out because we have years of LDD drawings that are always being used.

Here's a link from Carlson support. If I understand their explanation, it looks like you need to install this object enabler if you're using Carlson 2012 which has the AutoCAD 2010 kernel. Even though it says Civil 2010 object enabler maybe it is backwards compatible with previous Civil and LDD packages. It is available in exe format.
