I bought a Brother MFC-J6935DW. I had to print a filing plat and used the mylar we had for the laser printer. The results were not satisfactory. I called Brother for assistance, but they could only guarantee paper they manufacture which is not what I need. I see on the web that there is inkjet mylar. Has anyone had experience with this? More impotantly does anyone have recommendations on the best medium to use in inkjet printers when making plats that require extra durability (i.e. mylar)?

I use Oce 86-8342 cut sheets in my DesignJet 450C. It's 4-mil double-matte. As long as you make sure to print on the matte side it works great, the ink dries quickly and doesn't smudge. (The other side also has a matte finish, but it's slightly glossier and won't take the ink properly.)

I've used ink jet Mylar for years in my Hp Designjets. It comes in pre-cut sheets or rolls and one side is treated or prepared in some way that gives it textured surface that will absorb the ink. Print on the wrong side and you can wipe the ink off a week later, but on the correct side it is dry to the touch in minutes if not seconds.
