I wish...
I wish that when labeling lines, where the text is off the line, and a leader points to the line being labeled, under OPTIONS, that there were a few more options:
1.) Such as placing the brg and dist all on one line. As it is, they default to separate lines.
2.) Such as the ability to choose the label direction, by pick, or select text. At present, I use "Twist Screen" for this, but I prefer to maintain my own perspective, as I label lines. And, sometimes it is handy to change this rotation, as you go....
Thank you,
Nate
I spoke to them about ten years ago about adding the ability to enter passing calls and tie lines when deed plotting without having to jump in and out of plotting the current deed. They said it was a great idea and easy to add, but I have yet to see it...
Another option I'd like, under the same OPTION, is after selecting the line, to be annotated, and drawing the leader, is to be able to PICK the label direction. Or, just hit ENTER to use last. This would make it ultra fast, when things are low on room.
So, This is a 3rd item, under [O}ptions.

Use the reverse polyline command to change label direction. The poly direction needs to be left to right for normal labels.
Ubder your annotation setup you can set both the bearing abd distance to be either above or below the line, plus you can change the order to dist/brg if you want to. Play with the settings until you get what you want.
This is under ANNOTATE
ANNOTATE WITH LEADER
B/D With Leader.
I don't find a way to make it do this yet.
Nate
dent don't do leaders. dent hates leaders. real cartographers are taugt to hate leaders. :-X +o( :-$ 😉
Back to the ANNOTATE pull-down. Select ANNOTATE DEFAULTS. Look at the check boxes at about the middle of the pull down.
