Does anyone know a way to do a coordinate transformation on a LandXML file??ÿ It does not look good in C3D.
The coordinate system is defined in the LandXML. You need to import the file into your cogo, then perform the transformation.?ÿ
If you want, send me the xml file along with the transformation parameters and I will give it a try for you. I use Bentley OpenRoads, Global Mapper and Carlson Survey.
Lee,
Thanks for the offer.?ÿ?ÿPoints aren't the problem, I have an engineer client that thought he needed an alignment re-projected from a low distortion projection into SPC to meet the UP's requirements.?ÿ Turns out they just needed certain locations labeled with Lat/Long and to create a KMZ of the new track.?ÿ Besides this looked like it was going to be a normal request.?ÿ I got his CAD guy lined out on how to do the work in house.
I don't think C3D includes the projection in the LandXML, at least I do not see it.?ÿ A little bit of research on the interweb kind of suggests the same.?ÿ Go figure.
Thanks again
What Version of C3D are you using?
We have a transformation Coordinate process we use for incoming SPC stuff.?ÿ I'm booked for the next day or so But if I can get it into a PM here,?ÿ I'll send the link my surveyor provided for Gen Pop to see if you can use it for what you're trying to do.
Granted, we are in NM SPC, so you'd have to plug in values for your space in the universe, and that might take a few minutes, or more.?ÿ I'll look at it and let you know.
Thanks for the reply.?ÿ I'm using C3D 2020.?ÿ I'm not having a problem transforming coordinates, I do that routinely.?ÿ My problems was with alignment files and possibly other advanced design features.
