Continuing "topo training"...Laying out a "logging" path through the woods and up a hill. I know how to calculate grade from coordinates (x,y,z) back in the office (Davis, Foote and Kelly spend quite a bit of time on the subject), but is there a quick way to do this in the field with SurvCE?

Ideally, it might consist of two distinct tasks:

1. Set up and point to any two points, and determine the grade between them.
2. Establish a desired grade between two points (one of which is at the "correct" elevation for the location), and then look at the second point and determine cut or fill to establish the correct grade between the points.

Been back and forth through the "Road" section in the manual, and think "Slope Staking" comes as close as I can find, but I don't think that's it.

For determining the slope between two shot points, goto COGO, Inverse, click the 3d radio button at the top of the screen and then inverse between the two points and the slope will be shown.
