Frank,

It can be done, but unfortunately, I cannot remember how to do it. I had a demo version last year, and was able to create a pretty complex surface using it.

I seem to remember using the search feature here to figure it out.

Here is a Google Search result: https://www.google.com/search?q=import+dem+into+carlson+civil&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1

Wish I could be more help.

Good luck, it worked pretty good.

Using the pulldown menus -

Surface > Modify Grid File > Grid File Utilities > Import Grid > Import DEM

Getting a DEM file from The National Map is another issue - that source no longer provides the 7.5 x 7.5 arc minute DEM files aligned with the USGS quads.?ÿ If anyone is having a problem working with the later 1 x 1 degree NED files I can offer some procedures that worked for me.
