Once again, after all these years, I have disconnected seeing my hidden files in Windows Explorer.?ÿ ?ÿ I am trying to edit my template drawing and it's stored in a directory that doesn't show when I click to search files.?ÿ If I type the "carlson.dwt" as a search I can find the file, but it won't show up in a simple file view.

Where is that command that will display hidden files and extensions?

Thank you,

Don

Assuming that you have administrative privileges on your computer. Click on File Explorer, then on the top click on View, you should see boxes on the top to show Hidden Items?ÿ

First you have to go to the folder options...

01

?ÿ

...and then the View tab.

Check the "show hidden files and folders..." button, and then make sure you click "apply to folders" at the top:

02

?ÿ

Then all folders of that type should display hidden files.

In a somewhat related matter, can anyone tell me more to force Windows Mobile (the OS on my Carlson Surveyor+) to display file extensions??ÿ It's really annoying when I want to copy, say, a CRD file to a thumb drive and what I see is 4 or 5 files all with the same name because the extensions don't show.

As far as I can see, you can't, and it's a real pain when BT'ing files. (If you are viewing the drive by connection to PC you can see them on the PC).

However, if you quick tap on a file in the Win Mobile device, a dialog box will pop up saying there is no application, and in the top left of that box it will have the filename and extension.

That's helpful, thanks!
