I saw something about that this morning. I have CC cleaner on at least one of my home computers. The story made me glad I haven't updated it lately.

Another bothersome fact is that the parent company is now apparently Avast (sold to Avast fairly recently) which offers a free anti-virus program.... which again, is on one or more of my home computers.

Very little, if anything online appears to be safe. The primary concern on our part is the incentive an evil-doer might have to go after the companies any of us keeps data with online either voluntarily or non-voluntarily.

Write comedic operas about them? The Hackers of Hangzhou, perhaps?

All my work computers are offline for good
I have a Win7 64 Pro that is for the web and email and here.
A few months ago an update brought out the "This copy of Windows is not genuine" popups.
When the makers can not get it under control, why spend big bucks on their products.
A $200 computer with new parts from EBay will run the same as a $2,000 computer from the factory.
