I'd like to be able to acquire the same tiles that GE uses for their imagery.

I have already looked around on the Google Pro permissions site where they state that they cannot provide high res orthos; but I was wondering if anyone knew the names of the companies who provide the tiles to GE.

I am perfectly willing to purchase the tiles, I just need to know where to go to purchase them.

When I zoom to an area, the captions at the bottom of the screen identifies the source for that area in the center and gives the date of the image to the left.

Doesn't much of the imagery come from the USDA?

I typically see the same thing. In this case, the source is listed as Google Earth 2011, and the date is 5/16/2010.

This imagery is superior to the 2006, 2007, & 2009 NAIP's, which I can get from Maine GIS. I would like to be able to contact the company which provided these images to GE and purchase the necessary tiles from them directly.

There's a whole lot of stuff on Google Earth that is NOT orthophotos.

I was reading through a Carlson knowledgebase article entitled Resources for Digital Aerial Photography and Digital Maps the other day. It might be helpful:

Depends On The State

Recently I posted a link to Google image of Forty Fort, PA with the Susquehanna River almost reaching the top of the levee.

It was very recent 2011 imagery provided by:

PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, PAMAP/USGS/USDA Farm Service Agency. PAMAP is the source if I want a tile.

Check with your state.
