I know this topic just came up a couple weeks ago.

But tonight all I get is this mess (screen shot at bottom of post).

All I want to do is double click on one of my job numbers to zoom in.

Or even type a zip code in the search bar.

It is not behaving like usual.

By the way, I think I have the latest & greatest version too (screen shot below too).

Brad,
I am using a little bit older version than yours, and am using Google Earth Pro, but I thought I might offer the first things that come to mind to check.

Under your Google Options, in the "3D View" tab, did the box for "Use photorealistic atmosphere rendering" get checked on accident?

If that is not the case, also under the 3d view tab, you might try to change graphics mode. I see there is an option for "safe mode".

One more idea. In the top tool bar is an icon that looks like saturn. Did "sky" view get selected? I know mine does not work at all in sky view in the version I have, but maybe that is what this does? I don't know.....

Just some options I thought I would throw out.

Steve

Thanks a lot Steve. I tried all 3 ideas & I struck out.

I appreciate your help.

I think it is something that GE has done all by itself...?

It starts to behave, but then just really wigs out. It simply will not allow me to zoom in like it used to at all.

Google Earth ~ JFGI Brad

Gentlemen & ladies, you are often so very helpful that I often do not "jfgi" first.

If I had, then this is the solution I would have found. Thanks to all!

you have probably received an automatic update to Google Earth 7.1. Look in Tools - Options - "Navigation" tab, and in the "Non-mouse controller" section, uncheck "Enable controller" and "Enable visualization". You may need to restart Google Earth afterwards.

Somebody else said that unplugging the joystick fixed the problem.

Google Earth ~ JFGI Brad

Interesting, I have same version and both boxes are checked, I am using a mouse and GE is working normal, must depend on your graphics card or something.
