I use the free version of GNSS Solutions to post process my Promark 3 receivers and have noticed a glitch in the software of late. I can create a job, import the data, import the CORS stations, and process the baselines. The problem arises when I try and adjust the network; the program displays the "adjusting network" screen and seemingly locks up there.

Has anyone ever encountered this issue before and, if so, what is the fix?

Have you had a Windows update recently? My first suggestion is to verify that Windows is not blocking the automatic overwriting of files that occurs during an adjustment. It may be necessary that GNSS Solutions run at the administrator level. I had that problem with Ashtech Solutions years ago when trying to use my laptop to process files on another company's server setup. I had to have their IT guys give me Administrator Privileges. I have had recent Windows updates interfere with other programs recently, because Windows does not think I should be administrator.

If you have installed GNSS Solutions in the program folder you can move it directly to the C: drive. Another possibility is that your Projects folder is a subfolder of the program. I have had my "GNSS Solutions Projects" folder directly on the C: drive since the early versions.

Double check the chosen control points before you adjust your sessions.

I have had to reinstall GNSS Solutions a few times when updates to windows and other programs interfered with each other.

The biggest problem I've had in the past were what security programs were changing and not allowing.

I know exactly what is going on:

There is a file in the bin folder (C:Program Files (x86)GNSS SolutionsBin) named 'Fillnet.exe'. The file should be 136 KB (139,264 bytes) in size.

Your anti-virus (probably AVG) has decided that this executable is a virus. I have run it on 'VirusTotal' with this result:

Which in my book indicates that the file is okay.

So 'all' you need to do is put the file back in the folder. I have placed a 7-ZIPped copy of this file in this web folder: http://alltopo.com/out/gnsssolutions/ for your use.

The problem is that when you unzip the file, your antivirus will IMMEDIATELY delete it. You will have to manually go in and mark the file as 'ok' in the anti-virus program. Re-installing GNSS Solutions will not fix the problem because your anti-virus tool will IMMEDIATELY delete the tool.

GNSS Solutions lives on.

By the way, there are going to be a lot of post-processing solution announcements at InterGEO this year, If anyone is looking to purchase, best to wait a few weeks. 🙂

Just to let you know, Mark, your file fix was dead on. I am back up and running.

A shining example of what this board can do, and has done, for our profession.

Thank you very much.
