I am looking for recommendations for purchase.
I just downloaded CarlsonGNSS for a demo, have the Topcon Tools 8.? on demo (Is that still supported, or is it all Magnet now?)
Any comments?
TBC is good, but I'd be very wary about buying now because of the policy that Trimble apparently announced recently restricting the ability to upgrade. I haven't investigated the details yet, but it sounds like they intend to follow the Autodesk approach of requiring update purchases according the their schedule rather than that of the user, under pain of losing the ability to update at all.
You might want to watch Mark Silver's video about OPUS Projects on YouTube. Definitely worth looking into to see if it would meet your needs (and it's free - no software to purchase or paying for subscription).

Also check out Spectra Precision Survey Office. There is a new version, 3.11. You can now download the 64-bit SPSO version 3.11 from the web page at
For some reason, the 64-bit complete version of SPSO is well priced ($1995).
Also checkout CGO Office. CHC has a 60-day demo of CGO Office, which I found to actually be a good engine. No bells and whistles, but holy cow (no offence to His Cowness) the price is right. [ Link ]
For control work, I really do think that OPUS-Projects is going to be the gold standard. Hard to beat free too. Dr. Stone is teaching a OP class in Utah in a few months, the class appeared to fill up in 15-minutes. He mentioned that there is still room in the Farmington New Mexico course.
I can't find that video. Could you post a link?

Check out OPUS Projects manager through the NGS site.
We, MALSCE, are hosting a seminar May 1 and 2 with NGS.

Why do you need a new PP software? I still use an old GNSS v 3 which came with thenreceivers when I bought them.
What has changed since then ? I have another from Sokkia when I also bought their GPS receivers. The 2 softwares
never give the same point coordinates but they differ only in the mm range so I just use the GNSS importing the Sokkia files
via the RINEX format.
