I use Foxit. There was a previous thread on here a few years ago that discussed PDF software, and someone recommended Foxit. I was currently using a freeware/shareware software called PDF995, and it was working OK as a PDF printer. The freeware version kept popping up the website every time you hit the print button. If I paid $9.95, it would have stopped that.

Foxit does well for me. I created a signature file that is password protected as well as my seal. These I can insert onto the final PDF plat file and send out in an e-mail as an attachment. Foxit works as a virtual printer and does what I need in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. It has the ability to create one PDF file from many different sources. I tried using Adobe, but the software was just not intuitive or easy to learn. The menus were skimpy and I could not easily find where I needed to go to do what I needed done. Foxit was easy to learn. The optical character recognition part works well, too, depending on your source file. It struggles with old dot matrix coordinate printouts as will any OCR program. I have told a few others about Foxit. They tried and loved it.

I use CutePDF printer for printing/exporting to pdf. I use PDF exchange viewer from trackersoftware for general viewing, markups, and measuring. Between those two there's very little that can't be done. I actually prefer the exchange viewer over regular adobe.

After 7 months with Fox-it. Works just fine with small files. Say up to about 50 pages. But it does not handle larger files well at all.?ÿ As in the size that a set of construction plans might be.?ÿ Very slow, crashes often with larger files.?ÿ ?ÿ
