When I email an AutoCAD Drawing, the file is tagged as "read only" on our computer after that.
Does anyone know why and how to stop this from happening?
Thanks
Do other types of files sent as attachments get flipped to read only?
It's "read only" if you open it inside of the e-mail.
Download the *.dwg file to your computer and it should open as " a trusted AutoCAD file" within AutoCAD.
(If that fails, refight click on the *.dwg file and go under PROPERTIES and uncheck the read only box.)
It seems to be just my AutoCAD files. The file won't let me switch back to archive.
I have to copy the drawing to a new drawing....PITA
thanks
I just sent a very small AutoCAD file and it did not flip it to read only???
This solution from Autodesk may help you out. http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Error-DWG-file-is-currently-in-use-or-is-read-only.html
I tried a few solutions, but nothing worked yet...
Thanks
What program are you using to send your emails?
We are using Windows Live.
