Anyone use this? I had heard of going paperless before, and when I reviewed the programs, years ago, they didn't really "do it" for me, so I blew them off. Was talking w/another surveyor friend of mine and he said he used this and loves it.

I don't like it when you cannot see the price upfront, I had to go to a pcmag review to find the price, which is $30/month/user.

Not that I am against paying for useful software, but I don't like it when they "hide" the price.

I found it quite easily on their website when I clicked on "Products" link.

Me too. If they have to "hide" the price they are shysters. Their product may be superlative, however, hiding the price to make you browse through the whole site to find it is indicative there are more hidden fees that will pop up later.

The web page I got by doing a google search had no such products tab, just a link to do a demo and get a white paper. I have done that before on other sites, and started getting calls from them, which I find very annoying.

What happens down the road if you decide you don't want to pay any more, or they go out of business? Do you still have all your files and indices up to that point, or does it all go poof?

Hi, I work in Technical Support at eFileCabinet, so I thought I'd respond directly.

Our product is subscription-based, so if you stop paying for your subscription you lose access to most features of our product. For the locally-installed version of eFileCabinet, you are still able to export your data into a Windows folder structure after your subscription lapses.

For the cloud-based version, you would lose access to sign into the product, but we could probably still work out an arrangement to get you limited access to export your data. We don't want to hold your data hostage.

As for going out of business, we've been around since 2001, and we don't plan on going anywhere. If something were to happen, I know we'd try to give as much notice as possible, so you could make alternate arrangements.

If you have other questions, let me know or give us a call! 😀

Yes, I use efile cabinet. Been using for 2 years.

We started scanning all our old survey records last year. So far we have scanned and indexed about 100,000 surveys. Makes it really easy to search and pull up surveys you have on file to see what you have in an area for research. Speeds up our research a ton.

Software works great and apparently is in a generic format that can be used in other indexing programs if you need to switch down the road. That was a must for me when searching for a program to use
