In Civil3d, there are dialog boxes with the option "don't ask me again" or "don't show again". If that box gets checked, is there a way to uncheck that box since that option keeps the dialog from being displayed? I assume it's a variable somewhere. Thanks in advance!

Try this

@ncsudirtman?ÿ

If you use Global Mapper, it's the same way. When I was first shown the software I was told, "don't ever check those boxes to not show again because a couple of them are helpful when the other 99% are not".

@bobwesterman?ÿ

Thanks for the reply!

Sorry, I should've been more specific. I'm referring to dialog boxes used with Civil commands such as importing points with duplicate numbers.

The method you shared works on "AutoCAD" commands but I didn't see any Civil commands listed.

I just assumed it worked with all the commands.

I normally don't check those boxes.?ÿ

@squirl same thing a coworker said who showed me how to use C3D. I've been just clicking accept whenever they pop up. My biggest annoyance is the unresolved layers message when you go to plot - that message appears to pop up for every viewport shown on the sheet so a sheet with say 3 plan profiles has the message pop up 6 times lol

@ncsudirtman Go to the layer properties manager and click on the settings icon. In there you'll find the New Layer Notification settings, including an alert when you plot.

This is just a suggestion. I normally don't check boxes for Do Not Show Again options. For the particular command you cite, try going to your Commands settings under Points within Toolspace?ÿ(Settings tab). Right click on Create Points and choose Edit Command Settings. Open up the Point Identity section, and check what is set for If Point Numbers Already Exist. Should be set to Notify.?ÿ

@blitzkriegbob?ÿ

Hmm...those are already set to notify but the dialog box doesn't appear when duplicates are found.
