I am making the transition from LDD to Civil 3D and have my office computer setup but would like to transfer the toolbars and custom palettes to my laptop for use on the road. What is the best way to do this?
TIA

I've never done it before, but I know that's one of the things that you can do with an Autodesk 360 account, by saving your environment and settings to the cloud.
Lynn Allen has a video that takes you through the process:

I uploaded my settings to my 360 account in the cloud, but when I start my Laptop to sync it, the sync tabs are grayed out. (2015 Civil 3D on desktop and 2016 Civil 3D on Laptop) The help file stated that the settings could be moved from one computer to another. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ed
Sorry, Ed. I haven't tried doing it myself, so I can't really offer anything more. Hope you get it figured out.
try using the menubar command. Switching from LLD to Civil is a big change, the menubar makes it a little more like LDD.

I have spent so much time attempting to do this it makes me sick. Each time we get a new release I spend time searching and reading forums about "exporting" and "importing" CUIX files, and it has never worked.
My conclusion is it can't be done other than manually recreating them. I save a screenshot of the old ones before the "upgrade" and the modify and create in the new release.
In my experience Jim is right, unless you are reinstalling the same version, importing the CUIX files usually dont work. LDD is going to look so different than civil 3d anyways you might as well start from scratch. I have been able to use .pgp modifications and .lsp routines, they seem to be able to be integrated in later releases.
What I was trying to do was to transfer my custom palettes from my desktop running Civil 3D 2015 to my laptop running Civil 3D 2016, but have read that to use A360 they have to be the same version. I had a solid state drive go out in my laptop and decided because of the time it takes to download and install Civil 3D that I would install 2016 on it and skip putting 2015 back on it. I had someone else tell me that they usually re-create them also, I guess that is what I will do and update the desktop and then transfer them to it.

Probably the best way to do it. If you are using the same version on both machines you can just export the c3d.cuix file, I havent tried using A360. I have also found that even though they say 2 different years are compatable when you save in a newer version the drawings can do wierd stuff so your better off having the same version on both machines.
