I have a Civil 3D surface from a year ago. The engineer has already used it for design. I recently acquired more topo points because the project limits expanded. I uploaded the points into the drawing, but when I rebuild the surface to include the new topo, the original surface changes.
What is a good procedure for adding additional topo to a surface without changing the original?

Add a boundary under the surface.?ÿ There are a few types...

Build a new surface with the new data. Then create a new surface and paste both surfaces into it.?ÿ
