Anyone ever had the issue of CAD not plotting a hatch that has all the same settings from one drawing to the next. For instance, I'm plotting something in AR SAND, all settings identical in drawing A and drawing B for angle, rot, spacing, etc. Plot DWG A and B. B is darker than A by quite a bit. I'm stabbing myself with my plumb bob over this!!!! Any help appreciated!

There can be changes in the way hatches display, particulary when scaled model space. Or the further they are away from the drawing origin point. You can select the hatch and right click (or from menu/ribbon) and select 'Set Origin', and select a point of origin, I usually use bottom left extent of the hatch boundary.

I find gravel, conc hatches are particulary affected and distorted, and need editing.

ACad can have problems with hatches that have boundaries with unusual shapes. In some cases you'll have two hatches which should be identical, but one will display as a solid because the software cannot create the pattern.

Try breaking the hatch boundary into smaller pieces and fill them in separately.

the weird thing is, is that the drawings are identical. Using the same hatch boundaries on both. i.e. I'm xref'ing in a base, which I'm then adjusting the hatches to match. in different sheet sets. I'm at a loss.

Aaron,

When you say, "the drawings are identical", are they really? Check Properties for things like whether or not the Hatch is Annotative.

Ya, they are identical. I even had someone else with fresh eyes take a look. I think the issue is what Steve was saying. I'm going to try to break them up into smaller hatches and see if that is the culprit. I will post if that solves the problem. Thanks for all the help! I just started using this site and its been really helpful. :good:

Well......I figured it out. Apparently I unlocked the layer for the hatch in one drawing. As soon as I locked it back up, they look identical. Thanks everyone.

Well locked vs unlocked shouldn't make any difference. Now you've got me curious - can you upload the drawings for us to look at? Erase everything except the hatches if you want.
