I was wondering if anyone has tried to switch to this from AutoDe$k recently?
Was mostly wondering how stable it is now, and how much - if any - functionality is lost?
TIA

I use 2016 with Intellicad and it is better than the previous versions so far, especially 2013. I can't speak to the comparison, I have never used it with Autodesk.

How well does it work when importing files generated in Civil3D? Or do you do much of this?
I run Carlson with Civil3d 2014 and a home license of Carlson with IntelliCAD. There are some clunks - like scripts max out at 500 lines. Pan does not retain imagery but it comes back. IntelliCAD will not open some of my nasty / big drawings. The layer manager works much better. I would put it at 95%, but I only do a little bit in IntelliCAD. My final products are completed in AutoCAD.

I haven't tried since I upgraded a month or so ago.
I use Carlson exclusively for drafting and getting work out the door. Is the better than C3D? No, but it is good. I am waiting to update to 2016 here in the next couple of months, but so far so good. To answer your question about importing. I import from C3D all the time with no major issues. Everything has worked out well so far. I just hope they keep developing the program so we can get into point clouds soon.

They have already done that:
