So I have a Microsoft Access file that contains the Description key file that I use for LDD. I would like to use the same format for Carlson. Any idea how to load this layer/description key file?

Your layer settings are set by your *.dwt template file. That will be a direct copy of what you used in AutoCad. That loads under user/user name/app data/local/carlson software 2010 (or whatever version)/enu/template.

Your descriptor key file can be loaded by going to the menu tab "survey", then down to "Field To Finish", then down to the lower left corner of that window to "Edit Codes/Points", then to "Code Table Settings", then select "Import Land Desktop Descriptor Keys". You will probably need to massage the resulting F2F table to make it do all the things you want it to.

IF this is your initial runa t Carlson field To Finush, I would STRONGLY recommend that you go to Jennifer DiBona's website, thatcadgirl.com , and invest in her training manual on Carlson Field To Finish. It looks pricey, but it is a LOT less than a formal training course. (The book is under $200, a class can run $1,000 easily.) These books are written in real english and VERY easy to follow. EVERYTHING you need to know, and more, is in that one book.
