Problem: when editing a point in topo map automatically updates the linework and takes longer and longer depending how much linework is in the job file. it is only a problem when editing a point.
Equipment: rx1250 leica data collector. Carlson software not sure of version.
Settings: have tried most settings to see if there is a way to not automatically update (redraw) the linework. This is only a recent problem and has worked fine until a couple days ago. Thanks
I believe that if you go to Equipment - Configure and uncheck the box for "Use Line Details" it will turn off the auto-redraw. Manual redraw can accomplished by opening the map screen, open the Tools drop-down menu, then select Field to Finish, then Update or Redraw (I can't remember which).
If I remember correctly,if you use the Update option the line work will stay open, whereas the Redraw will end all of the open line work. I always use the Update option while in the field as I may have not finished collecting the line work.
Thanks Stephen Ward, "use line details" was what I needed to uncheck. Problem solved and lots of time saved!
Not sure why you're editing the points anyway. Most, I believe, export the rw5 file and process that in Carlson Survey or C3D.
Editing a point in SurvCE just changes the coordinate file and does nothing to the rw5 file, so the changes don't get changed, if doing it that way.
I write down edits, rod height and code goofs, and make the changes in the office.

If you edit the point description it does change it in the raw file.

News to me. If that's true, that's awfully odd that raw (rw5) files can be altered (edited) in the DC.
