I am upgrading some new equipment and upgrading my software to 3.0 . I was wanting to port my surv PC over to another box and they said no . But I could do the other, port from CE to PC . Does not make sense ? Same darn program .:pissed:

Maybe it got lost in semantics? Try telling them you want to "transfer your license" from PC to CE and see how that goes. They are really pushing PC lately, even though it isn't even fully baked (full of glitches). Makes me suspicious that they are planning to dump support and development for the CE platform soon. Which stands to reason as it is very old now.

My suspicion also would explain why they would not rather transfer you from PC to CE. In my scenario PC would still be an offering, probably still secondary to something like Android.

that's what I did asked them to transfer from PC to CE license . Nope but you can go the other way . I have no problems with PC just wanted an new box to run Carlson on and did not want to go the Windows full pc route again.. Anyway I found away aound it ....:-P ..

So you think CE is going to be 86'd . The only way that would happen is if Win mob was no longer available . I can see maybe a Android version coming out .

They wanted a $500 fee to "cross-grade" from SurvCE to SurvPC. I got a demo and tried it first, and boy am I glad I didn't bite on that one! Piece of crap is what I think of it, undocumented features (that don't appear to work), etc. They wouldn't let me try the ESRI engine with my demo. I considered outright buying it before I tried it, but now I'm sticking with SurvCE on an Allegro.
