ANYBODY KNOW THE PROCESS OF EDITING AND CREATING NEW COMMANDS FOR CARLSON. I WOULD LIKE TO ASSIGN SIMPLE TWO LETTER COMMANDS TO EXECUTE BASIC FUNCTIONS IN AUTOCAD 2008 WITH CARLSON. I HAVE GONE TO CUI BUT I THINK I AM MISSING SOMETHING. IS THERE A FILE I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD? WE RECENTLY CHANGED HARDWARE AND BASIC AUTOCAD FUNCTIONS LIKE 'MA-MATCH PROPERTIES, RO ROTATE AND THE LIKE DON'T WORK'

Type "MENULOAD" and go to the "Alias" tab. Select new, then assign your shortcut to a command. If the command you want doesn't show up on the right side, then I'm not sure what to do.

Look for "quick keys" in one of the pull down menus. The shortcuts are all listed in there, you will figure it out by looking at the information on the screen. Then type whatever your shortcuts.

A tip I got from an instructor years ago: if you customize to your likings, using double letter is a fast way to call the command, as opposed to 2 letters at different locations on the keyboard.

Example: "cc" (for cube / 3dviewer) is faster than customizing with "cu".

Quick Keys is in the Carlson Settings menu for the AutoCAD add-on/IntelliCAD product line.

As a general FYI, this routine is not available in Carlson Survey featuring the Embedded AutoCAD OEM engine due to contractual OEM obligations with Autodesk.

See what Ladd said and realise that the users will ALWAYS cheat and figure out a work-around. 😛 Go to the Carlson Website and go to the Discussion groups. If you are using Carlson with Embedded AutoCad, you will find your answer there. If you cannot find it, cannot do what it says or the answer is not plain to you, send me an email through this site and I will help you do what you want to do.
Just because AutoDesk wants to be a butt does not mean you have to do what they say. They ain't yer mama. +o(
