I have a polyline that represents a c/l alignment that starts (for my purposes) @ 98+85.91.
I want to label the beginning, ending & PI points, and the even 100' stations plus tics @ the 50' stations.
After 1/2 hour, I give up. I get the beginning, ending & PI's OK, but it places and labels the 100' stations @ 99+00.91, 100+00.91, 101+00.91, 102+00.91 etc, WTF?
For this to work, do I need my alignment to start at an even 100'? That seems kinda STUPID. Even a dummkopf like me can subtract 9885.91 from 9900 (in my head) and figure out where the next even 100' station should be. Then again, I know nuthin'...
Thanks,
SS
Try this.
Uncheck the box:
Increment from beginning station
Sarge-
There should be a check box for "Locate Even Stations":
CENTERLINE
Station Polyline/Centerline:
Hope this works.
Here's an image of how I set mine up to get the results you specified.
In particular, make sure that the box on the left side labeled "Increment from Beginning Station" is not checked.
No joy
Thanks for responding guys, but neither suggestion works.
If I change the starting station from 98+85.91 to 98+85 & uncheck the "Increment from Beginning Station" box, it works fine, except that 99+85 is NOT where I want the alignment to begin.
I hate friggin' work-arounds. Especially since the next time I do this I'll have forgotten this little episode and I'll waste more time.
[sarcasm]I'm just glad that I don't have a bunch of money tied up in this software.[/sarcasm]
Stephen,
I can't see any difference between our two dialog boxes, but I still get the funky labels, unless I start the alignment at an even foot. Not the Beginning Station in the dialog, but the actual endpoint of the pline.
Here's what I get when I create a polyline with a few lines and tangent arcs and then create a centerline file and label it with the settings shown.
It could be a quirk in that drawing or that particular alignment. It might be worth trying the same setup on a different alignment or in a different drawing.
Edit: I'm in Carlson 2013 running on AutoCAD 2013 if it makes a difference.
A lot of times I must exit CARLSON completely, then restart, and THEN every thing is OK.
EDIT: Maybe try LABEL SETUP - DECIMELS - and set to 2 places
No joy
In the Station Polyline/Centerline dialog box, issue the Save Settings command and send the resulting STA file (and the CL file) to my attention at lnelsonATcarlsonswDOTcom along with your Carlson version and build number (available via Help -- About Carlson) and I'll look into what might be happening.
