How in the go*$AMN h#LL to you F(@&*%& turn off the m(*!@# F*#&(%G auto-stack in mtext where it will F*@(%& quit doing it automatically!?!?!?!?!

Previous versions brought up a dialog box whereby the user could click to not have it autostack fractions. I don't like them.

TIA

Thanks, but that's the dialog box that is no longer present and is what I need to turn the autostack off.

On the mtext menubar, left of and next to the "color" dropdown (byLayer in mine), click on the b/a to stack or unstack fractions.
I had about forgot about *&^%$# John Francis! Where did he go?
edit: Alternately, you can highlight/select the fraction, right click and stack or unstack down about mid ways or so.

Does turning off MTEXTAUTOSTACK at the command line work?

How about that, I had read that post, and others from that alias, just didn't realize it was John.
Hope he's doing OK, didn't sound too good then, said a quick prayer for John. Seems I remember him having some other health issues.
thanks for the info.

I'm running Carlson 2015 on AutoCAD 2015. When I type 1/2 in mtext it autostacks and this is what my screen looks like.

Clicking on the lightning bolt below the fraction or on the b/a icon on the ribbon give me the menu you're looking for.

I believe it was his brother who had serious health issues that John told us about. That was a long time ago. Before he became retired69.

That command doesn't do anything so, no. 🙂

Yes, I'm aware that if I click that button, AFTER if makes the fraction, it will unstack it. I don't want it to ever stack one again and cannot seem to find the dialog box to turn it off.

Stephen, mine didn't have the lightning bolt, but once I highlighted it and right clicked it, I found stack properties and another menu lead me to the dialog box I was looking for! Thanks so Much!!!!!!
