Trying to figure out how to have 2 layout tabs with different scales show the dashed lines the same.
I've messed with PSLTSCALE and LTSCALE to no avail. Although I am not really sure of what I am doing.
I thought I would ask someone before I spend too much time figuring out how to do it.
I've been burned before having a normal autoCAD function not quite work in Carlson.
Thanks

I keep the properties tab open all the time. In the properties, you can select the line, and it will display the properties and you can then change the linetype, scale, et cetera, to display how you want it to. In your case, you would need to determine the difference in scales (i.e. 100 to 50 is 2 and the standard is 1, so you would change the 50 to 2) and correct for the difference.

LTSCALE can be found in the Settings menu. Change it to 1.
PSLTSCALE should equal 1.

Viewport scale controls the linetype scalar.

I set up my paperspace to plot at 1:1, no matter the scale.
I set my LTSCALE to 1/2 the overall scale.

I set PSLTSCALE to 1, BUT I have to do that in the model, while in paperspace.
Hit regen to see the changes.

That may be the hat trick. I hate paper space and never use it. I only use model space and have many inserts at different scales with no problems. Also, when I use my wheel mouse (which I'm a junky about), it doesn't upset the plat.

Not sure I am replying correctly, hope all can read this.
I've tried both methods. Does not seem to work.
I have paperspace set to plot at 1:1.
drawing scale is 1" = 2000'
layout number 1 viewport scale is 1" = 2000'
layout number 2 viewport scale is 1" = 1000'
with PSLTSCALE at 0 the dashed line is dashed in both layouts, but not the same
with PSLTSCALE at 1 the dashed line is correct in layout 1 and solid in layout 2
I am going to try Carlson help people, but it is possible they will say it is a CAD problem, go on-line...

I think what RFB was eluding to is the fact that the psltscale variable is unique to each viewport. It's not a global setting.
Activate each viewport by double clicking inside the viewport and setting that variable to 1.

Paper space is a PLOTTING tool. Period. You really should do only MINIMUM drafting while in paper space. Set up your border sheet, notes and legernd there, but that's about it. IF there's something that you really need from model space, you can always copy that item in model space and then move it to paper space using the chngspace command.
Paper space is worth its weight in gold when you have multiple sheets to produce a large topo. Use it as it is designed to be used and you will like it. Trey and do more than it is designed to do and it is a pig. Without the lipstick.

:good:
It helps if you think of it as PLOTTING SPACE, instead of PAPER SPACE.

A few years ago I was Model space only. Then I went Paper Space and it opened up a whole new world.
I'd suggest to anyone, this is one side of Cad, that when mastered can make it "sing".
BricsCad forum has some to offer on subject.
Paper space line scaling
