I have made the plunge and installed 2014. I was stuck on 2008 stand alone but decided that my clients are getting ahead of me so I better catch up.

I have installed 2014 and have a few issues; It has already locked, froze, and quit twice on me. I don't know why, or recall exactly what commands I entered prior to the crash but it was different each time. One time I was trying to find the modify command in order to resize text size.

Which brings me to a question, in 2008 the was an inquiry command that opened up a window that list all the attributes and was editable by the user. I can't find the command in 2014 that allows you to list the attributes and edit them in place.

Also, when I first installed 2014 there was a handy window that appeared below the menu bar and offered lots of editing options with separate screens for each option. Not the typical menu commands that are similar in 2008.

I am using win7, maybe win8, I'm not sure if that makes any difference.

Just switched over to Carlson 2014 a couple of months ago from LDD. So far, I've only had the program freeze up a couple of times when I first started using it; user error I am sure. I am not familiar with the attribute window that you're talking about but I think you are mentioning the menu ribbon under the menu bar. To toggle it on type: ribbon in the command line and to disable it: ribbonoff. Hope that helps

Edit: You're not talking about the properties window are you?

Having spaces in your layer names can cause odd file behavior and crashes as somewhat unexpected times.

Just an idea to explore.

You might also purge unused styles and line types.
