TODAY; 5 CRASHES IN 2 HRS OF CAD DRAFTING
YESTERDAY, 11+ CRASHES/8HRS.
NO PATTERN TO COMMANDS OR ACTIONS. SOMETIMES THE CS WINDOW IS NOT ACTIVE, AND BOOM.
WIN7 PRO, PLENTY RAM 8GB
I REALLY WANT TO LIKE THIS PROGRAM, BUT AFRAID WE HAVE A DYSFUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIP. CAN I HAVE MY RING BACK?
Auto-saves during crash to Drawing1.dwg on most occasions. Sometimes will auto-save to current drawing name.
I had search/destroy -ed this particular drawing, which was a template drawing. Still auto-saves to this name. Hmmmm....
thinking a re-install may help. May as well play IT guy, cuz I cannot work in this environment.

Are you a new user of the software? Funny stuff happens at that stage sometimes. I recall when I started using a particular GPS unit, I was getting all kinds of weird errors that I could never replicate once I passed "the first gate".
Maybe try to turn off the auto-save option. I personnaly never used it with AutoCAD. I got in the habit to hit ctrl-s at regular interval, it takes a split second. That may help you, I don't know.
Good luck and give yourself some time, once you figure out the cardinal rules (every software has a set), you will enjoy working with the software.
I've been a Microsurvey (Intellicad) user for years. Early versions ran FelixCad.
I have yet to find a build that I'd call stable. (I've just had a month trialling MsCad 2014 and it was no better for me)
Whenever I run my normal MsCad routines there is hardly a day when I get a freeze or crash.
During a freeze I can run my GIS and other routines with no problems.
Running Win 7 Pro, both 32 and 64 bit.
I know Auto Save has caused issues and do my own saving often.
I am not convinced IntelliCad is a stable Cad program, and after moving my main Cad to Bricscad can only say they are like chalk and cheese.
That has been my experience so wouldn't blame a new user if things get cranky.
I would hope a modern well sorted program should handle a bit of 'rough use' if that is what's happening.
Just add, my comments relate to decent processors with decent Ram which appears to be case at hand here.
Running old PC's and OS's with modern programs is a different scenario and one I'm not referring to.
fwiw, they are releasing intellicad v8 with carlson 2015 soon, probably in a couple of weeks. Hopefully it will be more stable. I gave up on Icad and bought a seat of Acad.
BTW, Richard's Dog Down Under is purtier than your Hawaiian dog. I bet it can whup your dog, too.
I worked with a guy who was an MSCAD virtuoso. He did all his work with the software. He was very effective and prepared quality work. He also used to joke about the name of the program and used to call it MSCrash. The morale of the story is if using IntelliCAD, you have to be prepared to adapt your work style to fit the software. It can be done, he did it for years. Just don't expect AutoCAD performance with the IntelliCAD platform.
Yeah, I've been to tassie and seen those devil buggers.
the labs would ignore it if a ball was thrown.
they did corner a wild pig last night though. bark!
Re Intellicad- will try to re-install. Its unusable in current form. Don't know if I can wait for 8. gotta get some paper out!

If you are looking to re-install Carlson 2013, you might look into seeing if you have a 2014 upgrade available:

(found under the Carlson Support Center).
Otherwise, Carlson Knowledgebase Article 865 might have some useful items to try.
