Just getting into Carlson 2013 with Intellicad. Seems like it will be a smooth transition from Carlson CES w/acad. They appear to be very similar.
I'm trying to get all the settings the way I like them and I'm having trouble with the font for annotation, text, area labels and such. I like a font called HANDP. I found the directory with all the .SHX font files and copied my HANDP.SHX into the directory, but when I specify HANDP in the various default text places, it doesn't use it. When I have a dropdown to select a font, there are only a couple of options, HANDP not being one of them. If I open one of my old drawings, it uses the HANDP and it looks fine. Here's a capture of a brng/dist annotation "list" inquiry:
SCroll/SOrt/Tracking/:
--------------------------- TEXT ----------------------------------
Handle: 57F
Current space: Model
Layer: BRGTXT
Color: BYLAYER
Linetype: BYLAYER
Line weight: BYLAYER
Text style: HANDP
Font File: romans
From point: X=4934.89 Y=5033.39 Z=0.00
Text height: 0.30
Text value: N 78°58'19" E 205.81'
Rotation Angle: N 78°58'19" E
Generation: Normal
Vertical alignment: Baseline
Horizontal alignment: Center
So HANDP is the text style, but romans is what is being used.
Secondly, I got my toolbars set up very close to what I had on the CES, but they seem to be moving around when I open Carlson. Is there a toolbar lock, or do I need to save them somehow?
Any help appreciated. TIA!!
And have a great 4th.
A text STYLE uses a FONT with various settings.
Type STYLE and define your HANDP style using the HANDP font.
(instead of Romans)
I personally didn't get along with intillicad. I am not sure why that Carlson keeps on stroking Intilicad. Maybe they have a better arrangement with reselling it. I am gonna have to upgrade the following:
This computer. This version of windows. My Carlson. My Data collector. And, my GPS.
There are 2 things involved. Cash, and time. Time to learn and get all me stuff moved over. And, Cash to pay fer it.
Anybody know how to turn lead into gold? (Wink)
Nate
RFB:
OK that worked...once. When I closed the drawing and re-started a new drawing I was back to Romans.
Nate:
That's what I just did...
New win 7 machine: I thought I could save some $ by running my old software under win xp mode. That didn't work so good. After a promising start, win xp mode stopped loading altogether. So I decided to get the new Carlson 2013 w/Intellicad. It seems that the main difference is in the price. Believe it or not, ACAD is WAY more expensive! The Intellicad option was $695 as an upgrade from CES.
DC: I went ahead and got the Carlson Survey+ data collector while I was at it. That will take some getting used to, but I spent a couple hours with a Carlson guy yesterday and I don't think it will be too bad.
I don't have GPS, but here's an interesting note: The Carlson Surveyor+ can be outfitted with a GPS pack. Check out Randy Noland's video on youtube here: Surveyor+
You'll have to edit your template that you use to start new drawings. Make your text style changes there and they should show up in all new drawings created from that template.
Anyone watching Gunbroker.com has seen exactly that, .22 ammo that was bought in bulk for about 2 cents a round 6 years ago now selling for 15 and 20 cents apiece.
