C3D guys again: Inversing between Pt labels

When I want to inverse between pts that are clustered together so that I can't readily pick the node, I use "_AeccCgList" and the "'_PO" transparent command to do so.

The only problem is: I can't read the result without hitting F2 to see the command screen, as the results are 5 or 6 lines up and out of the CommandLine range.

Anybody found a way to see the results without hitting F2 or maximizing the Textscreen?

Thanks,

Steve (using C3d 2010)

The Inquiry Tool should work. When the Point Inverse option is displayed you can pick two points either on screen or by entering point numbers.

If you have set the Units and Zone for your drawing you can get both grid and local inverses.

Whenever I want to work in a "crowded area", I'll "temporarily" adjust the display scale using the scale in the status bar. For example, it might be at 1" = 50'. I'll switch it to 1" = 10' or even 1" = 1', and then I can easily see all the labels in my "crowded area" with no (or minimal) label overlaps. Then when I'm done working in the "crowded area", I'll flip the scale back to 1" = 50'.

That lets me just use the NOD osnap, and sidestep the entire issue you're having.

Civil 3D:
Line
'pn
pt number

Carlson:
Line
pt number

🙂

My employer owns MicroSurvey so I use that for most Cogo-type tasks. Way less frustrating and more intuitive. I've grown so used to MicroSurvey cogo that I had a heck of a time using my personal license of Carlson last Friday. Carlson does have some things that are better such as Inverse by Area and Offsets. I have used Carlson at work (bring in my laptop) for certain fuctions that I like better from time to time but I didn't have it for offsets one day so I made an Excel worksheet which wasn't too hard.

Steve, Sinc and Jered

Steve, Sinc and Jered,

Thank you. Those are both highly serviceable solutions.

I appreciate your help,

Steve
