I'm looking for an inexpensive field calculator/traverse program for manually calculating small traverses in the field. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I used this software in the early 90's and loved it. It was written for surveyors by a surveyor. I thought it went away when Ted the developer died before his time. In fact, I think I passed the California LS with the help of a vertical intersection program that was in the package. It was one of those programs you always wondered what you would ever use it for. I only used it once and it was on a slope staking problem on the LS test. Jp

I haven't used the software for the HP50 but I have used the D'Zign software for the HP33 and HP35 and found it to be good stuff. There isn't too much out there to choose from anymore everyone must use their data collectors for comps.

Not sure what price range you are seeking.

I have HP50g with D'Zign Transportation Pac
and
HP48GX with SMI v5 Data Collection card

both are good to use for your survey software needs and would consider parting with card or package deal
check EBay or HP Museum or other for comparable prices and reach out if interested

my contact info is in member info

I haven't actually called to check, because I'm happy with the Pak I'm still using, but I think Phyllis Kerber is still taking orders for D'Zign software.

SGS Cogo+ Pro on a 50G will cover what you need. Been using it for 4 years now and it's pretty darn nifty.

Import/export text files via the sd card. Plot your points (for what its worth on a calculator screen). Battery meter. Oh and it gives you a toolbar outside the app with DMS> <, since HP decided no one needs those buttons anymore.

On web page <<>"> http://www.hpcalc.org/hp49/science/civil/>> there are two HP49/50 cogo programs listed: COGO+ Lt 3.55 and COGO-50 1.82
Details for COGO+ Lt 3.55 are on web page: http://www.hpcalc.org/details.php?id=7403
and for COGO-50 1.82 are on web page: http://www.hpcalc.org/details.php?id=6575

I have used the COGO-50 version in the past on several jobs and was very satisfied with its capabilities and performance.
