I do not have AutoCAD here at the office, we use MicroStation. I was given (through a third party) an AutoCAD file, apparently created with C3D. I cannot open the file with my MS, but an included pdf print shows the 'point file' on the drawing with point number, elev. and description. I have forwarded this info to a client that is using an AutoCAD product he said was 2015 'Lite'. When he opens the dwg I forwarded, the points show up as a 'cogo block' with no other info. He has called me for help. I do not have a point file and the creator of the original dwg is non-existent.
I'm thinking he is pretty much screwed. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Post the drawing, or email it to me. If there's points in there then it should be simple to extract them to a format that you can use in MS.
Send me the file rrain62 at yahoo dot com, I'll hook you up.
What your client probably needs to do is to download the object enabler for his autocad. Those are available from the Autodesk site. I've never used LT before, and I'm not 100% sure they have object enablers for LT, but I've read before that they are available. Once that is installed then he should be able to see the Civil3D objects.
If that does not work, if you're interested, post back and I'll give you an email address to send the file to me so I can try to open it to export the drawing to a format that should make it readable.
Thanks all.
I think I got it squared away!
