Italy didn't exist as a nation until the 1800's

The Kingdom of Naples, for example,?ÿ was?ÿpart of the Spanish Empire from 1504 to 1714?ÿ

Thanks for solving that because "Christopher Columbus was?ÿBorn in the Republic of Genoa, under the auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain he completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean."

Always wondered why the Italian explorers were under the Spanish flag.?ÿ?ÿ

For example...the Florida State flag is based on the emblem of the?ÿHouse of Valois-Burgundy

Ain't that the truth. Till this day I still can't conceive how?ÿthe Corps of Discovery Expedition made it. The journals are fascinating.?ÿ

When they got to the mouth of the Columbia river, they made celestial observations and detailed notes/sketches of at the camp they made on the north side of the river. They talked to some people native to the area and heard the elk were more plentiful on the souh side so they backed up camp and the rest is history...

I have a buddy that put together a survey party; to find that first camp. For the most part, it was under water; close to the Astoria-Megler Bridge. He said drove a lath in, at the top of the bank, opposite where he thought it was. Coming from St Louis; they were within 2 miles of where they thought they were...

Batteries? I don't even think they knew what a battery was. When they got back; the only thing they had with them, that they left with, was paper, pencil, gunpowder, and shot.

Amazing...
