Such a loss. I only hope he and his family had time to prepare. The bonds we make on these computers across the world are truly amazing. I have friends I've never met, and grieve for a man I've never talked to. I wonder if this is unique to the surveying world, but I doubt it. I feel so lucky to be part of this group.

Wow, that was fast. That means someone had to send a copy of his death certificate to the board, and the board had to process it.
Which reminds me: even though we're all sad that Steve's gone, his suffering is over. His wife, on the other hand, has to wade through all the minutia of closing/selling the business, notifying all the agencies and businesses that need to know of his death, dealing with all of his personal possessions, and -- oh yeah -- grieving the loss of a life partner. Death is hardest on the living...
