The land surveying profession lost an honorable member yesterday. Mr. Jim Boyer, TN RLS 734 passed away yesterday.
He is a Past President of the Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyor, multiple terms, a Past NSPS President, and a former Tennessee State Legislator. He was a true gentleman, and leaves behind a wife and two sons. He was very active in his church.
Mr. Boyer was active on both the state and national levels, promoting and protecting our profession. He set an example for those around him. I had the privilege of serving on the TAPS Board of Directors with Mr. Boyer for many years. He will be missed.
