I was in the San-Fran South Bay Area last week getting training on one of our newer birds, the Skyfront Perimeter 8L heavy lift UAS. This unit will carry our Riegl miniVUX LiDAR unit. With the LiDAR unit it can fly for for about 1.5 hrs allowing us us to map out 700-1000 acres per flight. I will head down to Austin next week to run our calibration flights and really nail down the hours of flight time and coverage. But hey this thing is a beast!?ÿ
Where's the mulch bag for inverted use?

@jitterboogie it's actually not too loud, but does sound like a weed-eater taking off. It has 2-cycle motor that powers the generator that feeds the 8 props.
Is there some kind of lockout to keep the props from being energized on startup??ÿ It looks like anyone standing close enough to pull the starter would be sliced up pretty good if those props start spinning.
company i worked for had ( key word HAD) a Leptron Avenger until it was crashed due to loss of comms.?ÿ I was glad it was down while i worked there, because i never wanted to have to consider the discussion if it ever " left the ranch" while i was doing the ground control
@jim-frame it has an electric starter, fuel injection. There is no pulling a starter. The engine fires up with a downward right left stick from at least 100 away.
i'm sure you'll have plenty of offers, but if'n you want to go grab a beer/taco/bbq/bbq taco at one of our myriad outdoor establishments while you're here, i know some good ones. tab's on me.
@flyin-solo I look forward to the report (public or private) after this meal together. ?ÿPhoto would be nice too.
I'm impressed -- I expected that they'd stick with a manual start to save the weight of a starter motor and battery.
