We have plenty of Black tip, Thresher, and Spinner sharks around when mulet, menhaden, and ballyhoo are schooling.

A small stingray got me one time when i was shrimping picking up the bag of a trawl.?ÿ 1000X worst than a wasp sting, it just got me on the tip of my finger and my whole arm went numb.?ÿ

Manta ray?
I do a lot of sea kayaking and occasionally have had fleeing fish get things wrong and jump into the boat. And once I had one of these rays leap parallel to the boat, 1m away, and I thought "I'm glad you didn't get that wrong".

Those are Manta Rays feeding on small crustaceans, sand fleas/sand bugs* in less than five feet of water. The Rays ??flap? their wings near the bottom to stir them up so as to consume them. Rays are usually in deep water consuming plankton as their primary diet but do ingest small fish and crustaceans. The year I took the pics there was an abnormally high influx of sand bugs all along shallow waters (North Atlantic-New Smyrna Beach FL) for about a mile or so. There were at least 5 rays and all raising hell with the stirred up bugs.
The Beach Patrol launched a zodiac to observe them from a distance and estimated the largest to have a 12?? wing span. It was a beautiful sight to see. Umm, if you ocean Kayak and one of them decides to land on you RIP.?ÿ ??ÿ
