Blood, Sweat and Tears in Birmingham, 1968. The first concert I'd ever seen, what a great experience.
The one thing I remembered was the funny smell in the auditorium, and my dad getting in somebody's face over it. The guy started giving my dad grief about bringing a kid to the concert, then the guy's girlfriend started giving him grief and kissed me on the cheek. I was 8 and thought it was the greatest night of my life.
How About The Worst Concert ?
A really, really bad concert?
Bob Dylan in Joliette, Qc. He played ~35 minutes, got back in the bus and took off while the crowd was cheering for him to come back on stage.

Reading through the comments, you guys are quite lucky: had the chance to see some major virtuosos in action.

The Shivering Denizens play some hot Rock-a Billy music. If you like that kind of stuff, I would highly recommend seeing one of their shows.
The best concert I've ever seen? Well, I've seen Frank Zappa, twice, back in the 70's; I'd have to say that was pretty darn good. Robin Trower opened the show for him in Lincoln NE.

Hands down the best, nothing else ever came close, would have to be the May 26 & 27, 1994 Pink Floyd shows from the 10th and 12th rows at the old Cleveland stadium. Sound was perfect, lighting, lasers and other production was unreal.

I've been to so many concerts that this is maybe 5% of what I've been to. These are the top for various reasons... Music first, people I was with... the buzz I had, the set list, etc, etc, etc... I LOVE LIVE MUSIC!! But I think my attending concert days are at an end... I don't like the crowds anymore.
Best rock concert
The Beatles, Sept. 1964, New Orleans City Park Stadium. I heard very little music, but it was remarkable how loud those high-pitched screams actually were and the girls would scream until they passed out, wake up and scream some more. Unbelievable!
Led Zepp in the Sam Houston Coliseum in 1973. In May and it was very hot inside.
The Doors, New Orleans, The Warehouse, December 1970. One of the last Doors performances, uneven and Morrison had aged 20 years in 5, but still very entertaining.
The Who, the Summit, Houston 1975. My fiancee (and still long-suffering wife) called Townsend "Leaper". Talk about full of smoke! Last indoor concert for me.
Without belabouring the point, all of these bands were my favorites and their music is sure better than anything out there today (to me, at least).

Although I've seen them a number of time (and other bands, too!) this was my favorite.
Little Feat opened on their reunion tour.....
October 1995 (I was 18), Starplex in Dallas, Texas Brother Cain was an opening act, followed by Skid Row promoting a new album, with Van Halen on the Balance tour.

Have you bought the "Ladies and Gentlemen" DVD yet? It's those same Ft. Worth shows. I've had heard that those rehearsals were out there.

I met Doug Ingle (keyboard player/vocalist) in Ft. Worth back in the 90s where they were doing an outdoor gig downtown. I got backstage and got autographs. He was the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet and very humble. He said (I don't remember the exact quote) that once you've been at the top and come back down, you realize how lucky you are, and you learn to appreciate the fans who are still around.

Being the number one Doors fanatic around here and having collected tons of memorabilia (including Morrison's autograph), I can say that that show is the holy grail of collectors. It was THE last live Doors show with Morrison. There is audio (not too bad either for bootleg) from the night before in Dallas. There is also supposedly a tape from this last show at the Warehouse, but the Doors don't want to buy it and the tape owner won't give out copies.
