Eeeeeeewwwwwwww! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This beholder sees only negatives in those pictures.

Awesome Perry.

I've seen a lot of snow, but never saw it completely cover the pine trees like that.

I'm sending you some more. It's sleeting now and supposed to turn to snow within an hour or two. You should get it in a day or two.

Here's a few for those of us that need some mental warmth stimulation. 😉

Perry, you are welcome from Texas

We woke up this morning to a very very rare site this morning.

Everthing is white.

I have lived in Central Texas for 35 years and can count on one hand the times it has snowed.

We have had below 20 temps for 4 days now and I mean that has been our high temp of the day with a wind chill of well below zero.

Tomorrow, they say we will be near 60 (yea!!!), so I will have to work this weekend to get a few jobs done, but for now, I ain't going anywhere.

Take care everyone and stay safe.

Randy

Randy: I am originally from Central Texas and most of my family is still there, mostly over around Georgetown....
You are right...best thing to do there in those rare snow and ice events is just button down the hatchs and stay home.

No one knows how to drive in the stuff....

Sitting here in ST. Louis at a balmy 9 degrees and 6 inches of snow and sleet on the ground...

Could be worse...

Tom,

It’s a damn good thing it doesn’t snow in Florida, its bad enough when it rains. People (on the Interstate, no less) put their flashers on and creep along at 0.5 mph. OMG, I couldn’t even imagine what it would be like in snow.

Y’all have a great weekend!

Driving in Inclement Weather

Here in Houston on the freeway, we give everyone 1.5 car lengths of distance between us and the guy in front of us, no matter the weather conditions. It is like a NASCAR race, except we have unplanned stops. Kinda funny to watch all of them go crazy when you hit the brakes and panic behind you.

Driving in Inclement Weatheri tEXAS

In Texas in 1980 or thereabouts running a belly dump, hauling pit run to oil rig pads.
That was one of those years when it got cold and stayed cold for a while. The frost was down a little over a foot and one day when I went to Waco a few days after it started to thaw it looked like Old Faithful running amuck in the streets with many water mains broken and spouting water. Kind of neat looking. Maybe find out this year if they put the waterlines below the frost line.

Wendell did, I didn't. Foot still bothering me when I take stairs and steep hills. Argh!!

Here's a pic that he took at the top about an hour ago. 🙂

Great pictures
For what it's worth: my favorite on the island-Lanikai Beach.
It's well worth the short drive.

Just researched it. If I have time tomorrow, I am going there to get some pics!! Looks stunningly beautiful!! They are talking bout a lot of jellyfish there, though. I won't get in the water too far, then. 🙂
