My wife bought me a Sig Sauer M400 MOE Enhanced rifle for Valentine's Day. I have enjoyed shooting it but the sights are lacking. I would like to put a scope on it. Any recommendations?

BSA makes a really nice little red dot scope that won't set you back an arm and a leg. Or the traditional BSA Panther is an awesome scope too. Check out sportsmansguide.com.

:good: agreeed, and also look at Aimpoint, Eotech, leupold, and Nightforce offerings. None of them are cheap but all are quality and will last!

I have the Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4x scope with the Leupold Mark IV one piece mount purpose designed for use on these flat top AR 223/556 carbines. Nice way to go for high quality glass. Ever get any haze inside, rare, but if you do send it to Leupold and get complete spec adjustments, rebuild and reseal, typically at NO COST, even if you got it second hand.

The battle scope has to be the Acog. If it were the deer rifle, it would be the Nikon Monarch BDC, but in this case, that would just look stupid.

My M4 has offset iron sights for hogs in the woods, then transition to longer shots with smaller optics. I too am saving for the Acog or EoTech.

Your wife bought you that for Valentine's Day? That is awesome! What did you get her?

I use a standard hunting scope for anything out past 100 yds and I have an EOTech for anything inside that. The EOtech is mounted on the top rail via a 45° off-set rail from YHM.

maybe http://www.shepherdscopes.com/

Leica and Zeiss both make rifle scopes, too.

Your new toy needs one of those ACOG "1x-over-4x" CQB gadgets like they are using in 3-Gun these days.

Plus iron backups: http://www.goshen-hexsite.com/dhx.php

Vortex currently has the price/quality edge.
