For all you armchair meteorologists:

Found this the other day. Cursor the dot on the map and it brings up current obs on that station. Click on it and it opens a new window with 24 hour obs.

Currently Reported Weather Conditions (CONUS)

Someone, maybe Paden, posted that site here probably two years ago. I've had it saved in my favorites ever since.

When someone says 'real-time weather observations', I always look out the window.

I've seen that before as well.
If you want true real time weather get your own weather station.
Davis used make some good stuff and I always wanted to get one.
Seems like every time I had money to burn for a new toy they came out with a cooler newer one that always kept me out of touch.
Since I am a renter now, not likely I'll get one.

Thanks for the link anyhow. I'm on a new machine and have lost all my previous favorites.

I can relate to that!!!
I was kind of slammed in to it.
As a child (8 or so) me and sis were picking on each other. Mom decided to distract us by telling us to watch out for tornadoes. It did quietest down for some time until we actually saw a tornado. That was probably in 1968 are so.
Since then I have been in six more tornadoes.
Countless blizzards. Several earthquakes.
I suppose that severe weather found me.
Back in the day during a severe weather event I used to draw up maps and using a highlighter I would draw out the watch boxes. That was before the day of the Internet.

I do still want get my own weather station one day.
E

When I was a kid I subscribed to a weekly NWS publication that showed each days weather from the previous week, so I could tell what had happened the previous week. Seems pretty stupid now, but I always had fun reading all the symbols and shorthand notations. This mouse-over and click stuff is sure a far cry from that...

Just picked up a Davis Vantage Vue yesterday. Got it as a promotion for buying some seed corn. Haven't hooked it up yet, looks interesting.
